Tromapalooza
Tromapalooza is headed down to the Bunkhouse this year. The annual not-for-profit gore party to support Troma Films’ (remember The Toxic Avenger?) Tromadance film festival is kinda like a low-rent version of the John Waters’ Christmas show, except we’re not sure the so-called “Master of Trash” could cope with this one. They’ve left the sticky embrace of the Double Down, but they’re amping up the gross. Troma head Lloyd Kaufman himself will be present to screen clips of his new zombie chicken musical Poultrygeist, along with lovable Toxie (from The Toxic Avenger), the Swingshift Sideshow (not even for the young-at-heart) and 10 local punk bands of a mentality in proper keeping with the evening’s other entertainments, which includes a “bloody T-shirt contest,” so we figure you get the idea.
