G4 TV JOINS TROMADANCE FILM FESTIVAL SPONSORS

G4 TV has agreed to support the 2007 TromaDance Film Festival. Lloyd Kaufman, who founded TromaDance in 1999, made the announcement today, and heralded it as a great step forward in TromaDance’s mission to help truly independent filmmakers.

“G4 is the fastest growing television network around, and TromaDance has been given a tremendous boost by their generous contribution,” stated Kaufman. “We are very grateful to John Rieber [SVP of Programming & Production], and now our screenings at the Salt Lake City Library, Brewvies Cinema Pub, and Kristauf’s Martini Bar in Park City will all be better equipped and better attended than ever.”

TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art — in all its forms — is for the people!
